Q: How/where are baked cupcakes made?

A: All our cupcakes are baked and decorated fresh daily. All cupcakes are baked in the 5 South Main kitchen in Cohasset, just a mile down the road. We use only the very best ingredients available and we do not operate a production line or use industrial machinery. All our cupcakes are freshly baked each day in small, scratch batches and iced one order at a time.

Q: Are there any requirements for special orders?

A: Yes. We require a minimum of a dozen cupcakes. Certain flavors require a minimum number so it is best to speak with a staff member for more details.

Q: Can I phone or email to place an order?

A: Orders can be placed by phone, so staff members can get as many details as possible about your order. We currently do not have email ordering.

Q: Do I need to pre-pay for my order?

A: No, you can pay for your order when you pick it up. If you would like to pay in advance, please call and a staff member will input your credit card information.

Q: How far in advance should I order?

A: We recommend ordering cupcakes a minimum of two days in advance, but we do get very busy (especially on Fridays and Saturdays) so the earlier you place your order the better! For large orders it is advisable to give as much notice as possible.

Q: Does baked deliver or ship?

Q: How do I store my cupcakes and how long do they keep for?

A: We recommend that you store your cupcakes at room temperature. If you will be consuming the cupcakes more than 24 hours after purchasing them, you can freeze them. To thaw them, leave them at room temperature for 2–3 hours.

We always recommend eating your cupcakes within one day of purchasing them because they are scratch baked. If you find you can’t eat them in that amount of time, it is best to freeze them in an air tight container.

Q: Does baked offer custom decorations?

A: Yes! We offer custom decorations for holidays, birthdays, weddings, showers, etc. Please call the store to talk to a staff member who can give more details based upon your needs.

Q: Does baked offer special icing and fondant colors?

A: Yes, because we make everything in store, we can color match fondant and icing to any color you would like!

Q: How many cupcakes do you recommend per person?

A: We recommend one regular sized cupcake per person or two mini cupcakes per person and then suggest rounding up to the nearest dozen above that number, depending on the size of the event. Because our cupcakes are less expensive by the dozen, we always recommend ordering by the dozen.

Q: Does baked rent cupcake stands?

A: Yes, we do rent cupcake stands. Please refer to the chart below for details. Deposits (cash or check) are refunded when the towers are returned in good condition.

Q: Does baked offer any gluten-free cupcakes?

A: We offer gluten free chocolate cupcakes topped with powdered sugar by special order but our kitchen is not a totally gluten free kitchen, so they are made in a facility where gluten is present.

Q: If I have a nut allergy, should I eat at baked?

A: Baked does NOT have a nut free kitchen and several of our daily flavors use peanuts or tree nuts. To be safe, we recommend that customers with severe nut allergies do not eat our cupcakes.
